Officer Jeff Schaefer was born in Cherry Point, North Carolina into a military family. Due to the requirements of his father’s work as a US Marine, he moved in excess of 17 times before graduating high school and has lived in several states from coast to coast. After graduating high school, Officer Schaefer attended Arizona State University and graduated in 1995 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Justice Studies.
Officer Schaefer then diverted from criminal justice to education and received his teaching certificate after two years of mathematics and educational coursework at the University of Texas at Austin. After working as a math teacher (high school and middle school) and coach for over 13 years, Officer Schaefer left education to join the Pflugerville Police Department in December of 2010. Officer Schaefer joined the Pflugerville ISD Police Department in November of 2012 to return to education, albeit in a different capacity.
In his free time, Officer Schaefer enjoys spending time with his family, building furniture in his shop at home, Cross fit and lifting weights.
