Senior Activity Center at the Recreation Center
Pflugerville Seniors - February Calendar - events, classes, trips and more!

Social seniors age 55 and older meet at the Pflugerville Recreation Center.

City resident membership is $3 per individual and $5 per couple. 
Non-residents pay $5 per individual and $7 per couple a year.

NEW: Training dates set for MySeniorCenter

In March, a new automated keytag check-in system will be activated at the Recreation Center for seniors to use for daily check-in when they come to play games, participate in classes, and to sign up for trips. Individual keytags will be issued at the monthly Senior Luncheon on February 21, and a demonstration of the system will be conducted by staff.

Looking for a place to walk?  Join the Recreation Center Walking Club and start walking with a group of dedicated walkers on the elevated track.

Senior Yoga
Location: Windermere Clubhouse, 16800 Gower St.
Tuesdays & Thursdays
Beginner:  8 a.m.
Intermediate:  9:15 a.m.

$40 per month or $8 per class
A yoga class designed for seniors who are able to get down on the floor. Chairs will be provided for those who need time and training on how to effectively move to the floor using props, etc. Effective use of props will be encouraged and demonstrated. This class is scheduled to meet twice a week.

Students: Please bring your own mat, one or two yoga blocks, yoga strap, a large beach town or small blanket, a small pillow, and a bottle

2nd Mondays with Reavis Rehab
PFREE to all current SAC members. Classes will be held monthly in the Weight
Room at the Recreation Center 8:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.

M.O.V.E. with Saida Marek
Classes begin on January 9 - all January classes are PFREE for SAC members!
Mondays, 10 a.m. - 11 a.m.
Recreation Center, Kitchen Meeting Room
$5 per class, $15 per month.
What is M.O.V.E.? Each session will motivate and engage your mind, body, and soul. Sessions include exercises that condition the body, challenge and develop balance & strength using hand weights, ankle weights, and resistance bands. M.O.V.E. sessions also include breathing exercises, stretching exercises, laughter yoga, meditation and mindfulness.

Fall Prevention Class

Wednesdays, 9:30 to 11 a.m.
Begins Feb. 22, 7 weeks of instruction

PFREE class
For ages 65 and older. The class is designed to teach seniors to gain balance and how to make their home environment safe from falling. Class meets at the Recreation Center. Please pre-register by calling 512-990-6350.

Use our coloring pencils and sheets or bring a favorite coloring book. This month, we’ll also provide Valentine’s Day cards to color.

Senior Crafternoon: Rolled Beeswax Candles

Make simple beeswax candles. Materials will be provided while supplies last.

Sonia Coyle of Texas A&M’s Agrilife Extension Office will offer tips. A light lunch will be provided. Registration is required.

Master Gardner Presentation: Spring Vegetable Gardening
